Expired drugs worth of millions of rupees were recovered from the drugs store of Jinnah Hospital during a raid, here late Saturday night.
According to details, a health department team accompanied by police, upon special directives of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif conducted a raid at the medical store of Jinnah Hospital.
During search, the raiding team recovered expired medicines worth millions of rupees from the drug store.
The recovered expired drugs included Morphine injections and life saving drugs, among other imported medicine.
Chief Executive of Jinnah Hospital Dr Javed Akram said that all the medicines in the store are of standard and imported. He said that the medicines were donated by US and Britain which are provided to poor people without cost.

I think that question needs to be asked and answered once again, because we’ve lost all meaning of what this country is.
This business is continuous since years along with over invoice and same party 3 competitive quotations and tender .Needs a comprehensive inquiry to fix the culprits.
Do people always have to die before govt starts doing its job!

Who cares if a soldier dies!!!
Take a man and put him alone, Put him twelve thousand miles from home. Empty his heart of all but blood, Make him live in sand, in mud.
Play your politics and have your fun, Then refuse to use a gun. There’s nothing else for you to do, Then I’m supposed to die for you?
He had the guts to fight and die, To keep the freedom you live by. By his dying, your life he buys, But who cares if a soldier dies!!

I’m not even phased by this news…if anyone actually did something good without any selfish motive…that kinda newz wud definitely surprise me.
This is yet another example of good governance of Punjab under Shahbaz Sharif. Our province which is almost 60% of the country seems to have gone to the dogs.
seems?
Khadim e Aala…..why do they hv to self praise themselves by bestowing such title upon themselves when they cannot deliver because 12 important ministries are under the CM of Punjab as there seem to be no qualified / competent MPs in PML N…..& the CE of Jinnah hospital shud be hanged publicly…..
Dr.Javed Akram had said that the medicine came from foreign countries, but that doesn’t mean that you should stop checking whether the medicine is expired or not. I also think that this hospital’s department should have been more cautious and aware while choosing the organization that supplies these medicine, mainly because they were getting the medicine free of cost. The Punjab Chief Minister should visit all the suspicious or reported hospitals and reinforce/emphasize upon this big problem.
