Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on directives of its Director General (DG) Ahad Khan Cheema, on Sunday, observed ‘Dengue Cleanliness Day’ at all the offices, schools and other premises of the LDA, in connection with the anti-dengue campaign launched by the Punjab government throughout the province.
Comprehensive measures to eradicate the chances of the presence of dengue larva in and around the LDA buildings were adopted at this occasion. Debris and junk was removed from various places in the buildings in order to eliminate mosquito breeding sites within these premises.
Cleanliness of store rooms, where junk material had been stored, was also carried out. Rain water accumulated at various places was dried. Spray of insecticides was carried out everywhere and fogging was done for plants.
All the focal persons inspected the premises assigned to them and submitted certificates regarding the non-presence of dengue larva at these places.
