Advice for PFG

In their first meeting, 150 retired generals and senior officers of air force and navy set up a non-political pressure group by the name of Pakistan First Group (PFG). They have demanded that General Pervez Musharraf should be allowed to return Pakistan and government should provide him security which is provided to other ex-presidents.

I suggest that the PFG should join APML if they really want to help General Musharraf and want to contribute with their experience to make Pakistan a real civilised democratic country. One of the reasons of democracy’s failure is that the present political parties do not having democracy within their own parties, and they are headed by selfish politician.

As there are many challenges for democracy in Pakistan, the APML can play vital role to defend the democracy. It will be a great service to the country and the teeming messes if all ex-generals participate in politics and provide an alternative leadership to the people of Pakistan.

The president, PM and number of other politicians have in their credit few years of imprisonment. It is a fact that during Musharraf’s rule, Pakistan was put on a right direction and the economic health of the country was much better than the present conditions. He was then led down by opportunist corrupt politicians but with a team of retired honest generals, he will be able to make Pakistan as envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
