Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Chief Justice (rtd.) Hamid Ali Mirza said that electoral rolls will be completed by the mid of May this year.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) said the ECP is an independent institution, which should be respected by other institutions.
In a consultative meeting with political parties to contemplate various measures for holding free, fair and credible elections in the country, he urged all the institutions to stay away from the constitutional confines of the ECP.
It would be unfair to prepare the new voter lists without fulfilling the constitutional pre-requisites for the purpose, he added.
