The Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) does not want the division of Sindh, party chief Altaf Hussain said on Saturday.
“The MQM wants to create harmony, brotherhood and unity among the permanent residents of Sindh,” he added.
“The MQM is against the division of Sindh whereas the so-called nationalists are acting on the plans to divide Sindh by spreading their poisonous propaganda at the behest of foreign powers.”
Hussain was speaking to the office-bearers and activists of his party in Sukkur.
The members of the MQM Interior Sindh Tanzimi Committee and Sukkur zone informed Hussain about the preparations for MQM convention titled “Strong Sindh, Prosperous Pakistan” in Sukkur on January 27.
Hussain said the MQM has been struggling for the rights of the people of Sindh, and it would continue to do so in future as well.
“The so-called nationalists, on the other hand, who have announced a strike against the 20th constitutional amendment bill tabled by the MQM for the Hazara and Seraiki provinces, have always compromised over the rights of Sindh,” he added.
“If the nationalists do not want the Seraiki and Hazara provinces, they should let this know publicly instead of accusing the MQM of trying to divide Sindh.”
Hussain said the MQM is making practical efforts for the rights of the oppressed and downtrodden people. “It has presented the 20th constitutional amendment concerning the creation of the Hazara and Seraiki provinces, but it has never spoken about the division of Sindh,” the MQM chief clarified.
Hussain said that despite his party’s clear stance on the issue, the nationalist are spreading hatred among the permanent inhabitants of Sindh. “The people of Sindh should see through these conspiracies. They should stay united in order to frustrate the conspiracies of the nationalists. Intellectuals, columnists, journalists, students, youths, clerics and people from different spheres of life must remain vigilant about the conspiracies to kindle the fire of hatred in Sindh.”
Hussain said MQM’s public convention in Sukkur will prove to be the most successful one, not only in the history of the province, but also of the country.
“It will become a landmark in the struggle for the rights of poor farmers, labourers and workers.”
Hussain said he is confident that the people of Sukkur would turn out in large numbers at convention on his appeal. He hoped that women would also attend the event.

  1. The Pakistan Today appears to have a collection of portraits of this so called megalomaniac leader who is sitting in London and sends his directives to his thugs here in Karachi to blackmail, extort and even eliminate who oppose him. The other day his photograph showed him in a western attire and the impression it was giving as if he was one of the statesmen of the world. Today's picture gives the appearance of an extremely popular leader in whole of Sindh province.

It is funny that of the all parties MQM seems to be very active in supporting new provinces in the country. Altaf Hussain is pursuing his grand design to create Jinnahpur province by fragmenting Sindh and he should understand that Sindhis will never ever accept this. .

  2. Altaf Hussain is a popular leader there is no doubt about it. He has been successfully running in party which is evident from the increasing public appeal in Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and other parts of the country. It is also making great headways in Interior Sindh in order to liberate the poor farmers, peasant and labourers from the oppressive grip of the feudal lords.
