Returning the Intelligence Bureau’s (IB) report over the worsening law and order in Balochistan, the Supreme Court (SC) on Friday directed the Balochistan advocate general (AG) to submit the report in summary form on January 27. A three-member bench consisting of CJP Iftikhar Chaudhry, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Tariq Pervez was hearing a petition on law and order in Balochistan and target killings filed by Balochistan High Court Bar Association President Hadi Shakeel Ahmed. The CJP said that a larger bench would be constituted for hearing the case, adding that the case might be heard at the SC Quetta Registry. During the hearing, Balochistan AG Amanullah Kanrani submitted three-month reports of IB and CID on the law and order in Balochistan but the court returned it. Earlier, the court had rejected a report filed by the Balochistan chief secretary on the security situation in the province.
