Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Friday that his party would support the Supreme Court (SC) if it asked the army to implement the court’s NRO case verdict and remove the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)-led government. In an interview with British newspaper The Times, Imran said that a free justice system was very necessary for eliminating corruption, adding that without a free justice system, corrupt people and criminals will come into power again to loot national wealth. The PTI chairman rejected allegations that he came into the limelight with the army’s help, saying that after coming into power he will try to reduce the army’s influence on foreign policy. Imran said that he would quit if he failed to do so. He rejected Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani’s claim that the ‘democratic war’ was being fought between the elected and unelected leadership, saying that if a state institution such as the SC was destroyed, democracy will also be destroyed subsequently.

  1. The people of Pakistan know that the Supreme court is working overtime to remove the government. It is not going to be military coup but a judiciay coup this time.

  2. An honest, barring usual sarcasm question:

Did Nawaz hypocrite sharif, follow the proper channel/procedure in taking this case directly to the supreme court?

Did SC show unusual flexibility? To accomodate Nawaz’s petition?

  3. Yes because its always difficult to implement laws on any govt in Pakistan,,,,,,,,they considered themselves to be the KING & v Need to revolutionize this Tradition

  4. Imran! This is where you will blunder. Why? Let's face it, that the Supreme Court knows more of the Law than you do or for the fact any of your advisors. So please let your love for the existing Democracy take a nice long sojourn.
Let it come back after the elections are held on newly approved rolls and the bogus 36 million votes are erased from them and from our living memory.
    Salams to you and Pakistan

  5. It will be very harmful and dangerous for Pakistani democracy if Supreme Court issues ordered to oust Govt through military. And this stigma on Court would never be cleansed as the theory of necessity presented the courts in past.

  6. What a ridiculous stance taken by IK.
Such is the hatred of the democratically elected PPP government that IK is willing to support any damn measure to remove the government. MQM is already on the threshold to side with so called 'patriot' generals and now it has an ally in Imran Khan who not long ago was a sworn enemy of Altaf Hussain.

  7. Pate Khan you should have a brave heart. You should not so short minded. DilvBahra karo Everything is not in your control. There is also a Super Nature who have the authorities of every thing.

  8. Another objectionable statement of playboy named Imran Khan. PM was elected by National Assembly and only National Assembly can remove him. Any unconstitutional change whether through Judiciary or Army will be wrong. We do not need to be impatient. If the people of Pakistan want to change this government, they will do so when next elections are held in 2013.

  9. What a shame.Imran Khan was not expected of doing such a move in pursuit of his hunger for power. he does not know what he is asking for now will have to face eventually(the military) if he comes to power tomorrow. Like Nawaz Sharif he is trying to be a good boy of the pakistan army or the establishment but ultimately he will have to be disgraced by these Khakis. Imran gave people very high expectations but now his power-hungry face has started appearing before the people. Like Abdullah Niazi who lost battle in Dhaka, Imran Niazi would lose his election fight in the next polls.
