The PML-Q president of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has assured President Zardari that his party will not leave PPP in hot water and will support the motion in the National Assembly to defend democratic system.
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain called on the President at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Sunday to discuss prevailing political situation of the country, resolution tabled by the coalition government in favour of democratic system and upcoming Senate elections, which are going to be held in March this year. Senior minister Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi also flanked him.
Chaudhry Shujat told the President that PML-Q wants the continuation of the democratic process in the country . He vowed with that PML-Q would stand shoulder to shoulder with the government in hard time. Both PPP and PML-Q would contest the Senate as well as general elections jointly.
During the meeting both the leaders discussed the forthcoming Senate elections in detail. Chaudhry Shujaat hoped that PPP would fully back PML-Q’s candidate in Punjab.
President Zardari pledged that PPP would never forget its allied partners in any case.
