An earthquake measuring 5.5 on Richter scale jolted Chitral and its surrounding areas on Saturday morning.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, the epicentre of the quake was 115 kilometres away from Chitral in the Hindukush mountain range.
The tremor was felt at 3:50am on Saturday. No casualty was reported from any part of Chitral and its surroundings. A low intensity quake measuring 4.3 on Richter scale had hit the same area on January 9.
