A positive change

It is not too late. Eminent Baloch Sardar and politician Ataullah Mengal came out with the blatant truth in his TV talk on 8 January when he admitted that it was questionable whether the youth of Balochistan spearheading the so-called ‘separatist’ movement are able to run the affairs of government if the Balochistan province gets independence from Pakistan.

The Sardar who was a month back pleading for independent Balochistan in yet another statement two weeks back surprisingly enough went too far when he said: “Balochistan has rich resources and any other force could trap us into another quagmire.

We have no other solution, except to keep the country intact.” Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani followed the remark by saying “the world is eyeing on the Gwadar Port and natural resources of the province, but we will not let the province become part of any great game.”

This is the most welcome statement which is certainly a ray of hope for us as a nation. This change is visibly seen in the veteran Baloch politician’s mind after the PML(N) president Nawaz Sharif visited Sardar Mengal’s place where the latter warned the nation about the enraged Baloch youth who are living in the mountains. Very few know about who is leading those youth or whether their movement is under the BLA tag or BRA insignia? It is for your readers’ information that Dr Aala Nazar is the leader who seems to be working on some others’ agenda. Dr Aala Nazar has very dubious background. His MBBS degree is not probably authenticated.

Besides the holding of nationalist pro-separatist leader Sanaullah Zehri’s PML(N) slot in Balochistan is a major development. The FC and military circles are also pointing towards the mysterious movement involving the said to be Balochistan youth which is mostly in the Brahwi-concentrated areas. This also seems likely that neither Sardar Ataullah Mengal nor Mir Khuda Bukhsh Mari have any kind of control on those movement-youth and they are worried about their actual motive of campaign, as the traces of the hands behind are so far visibly clueless. The Centre as well as the politicians of all the provinces need to be cognizant of the fact and they not only need to read the writing on the wall but also join hands together and take a joint step towards saving the Balochistan province from being separated.

If Sardar Ataullah, Sanaullah Zehri and Sari Mari can be briefed about the actual situation and the conspiracies behind, why can’t a similar dialogue process, brain-storming sessions, awareness seminars and motivated media campaigns be initiated as immediately as possible? Baloch people need to be understood.
