World Quality Day has been celebrated today at Punjab University’s Al-Razi Hall to talk about the achievements and raise awareness regarding the most updated approaches to quality systems and processes through an evaluation of their impact on human life. Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr Mujahid Kamran chaired the event.
Quality Enhancement Cell Director Prof Dr Aamir Ijaz delivered the opening address. The VC said quality depended upon the quality of society and human behaviour. He said honesty, expertise – in fact every aspect of life – depended upon the spread of knowledge. He said there was a dire need to strengthen our industry, agriculture and businesses. He demanded that rulers allocate at least four percent of the GDP to the education sector and patronise research. He appreciated the effort, adding that such events were extremely helpful in raising the quality of the education system and he stressed on a never-ending quest for quality-based improvements.
LCWU closes for a week: Lahore College for Women University will observe winter vacations from December 26, 2011 to January 3, 2012. Examinations scheduled during the said dates have been postponed. Professional examinations, such as pharmacy, however, would be held according to the previous schedule. The university would reopen on Januaryw 4, 2012.
When we are celebrating Pakistan Quality Day? I think Punjab university students, should start from their own campuses. Start from very basic, like cleaning / garbage removal , New campus canal cleaning, remove posters, etc
