Lahore High Court Chief Justice Azmat Saeed said on Friday that almost half of Pakistan’s population had no access to justice and there was a great need to raise awareness among people regarding their rights. He was speaking at a seminar titled “Clinical Legal Education”, organised by the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) at a local hotel.
The CJ said that the constitution of Pakistan guaranteed economic and social rights of the people and it was a responsibility of the judiciary, legislature and executive to resolve the issues of the people. He said that the legal and judicial system should be revamped to adjust with the present situation. He said that the legal education should be streamlined urgently, assuring that the judiciary will take all possible steps for improving the legal education.
