The Islamabad Police have introduced a ‘neighbourhood security system’ in various residential sectors to help curb robberies in the city, says a press statement issued on Wednesday. According to details, the security system has been launched in houses in G-10 and G-11 sectors. Electronic switches were installed in the houses, which when pushed in case of emergencies, will sound alarms in the adjacent houses, allowing residents to assist their neighbours. While briefing the police about the security systems, IGP Bani Amin Khan directed the SHOs to provide information to the citizens about the advantages of the system and to install it in their respective areas within the next 15 days.
