The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Rawalpindi is all set to announce revised results of the Secondary School Certificates (SSC) Examination 2011. A senior board official told this scribe that after the re-checking of the papers of around 49,556 students, the board chairman has sent a letter to the Punjab Education secretary for fixing the results’ announcement date.
“We are ready to announce the revised results. We are just waiting the secretary’s approval. It is expected that the result would be announced in the next week,” the official said.
On the other hand, the delay in announcement of results has become a source of anxiety for the students, who had been the victims of the faulty results this year due to introduction of the online result preparation system. It is relevant to note here that after taking notice of series of protests staged by students across the Punjab, the Punjab government had cancelled all the results of several BISEs including BISE Rawalpindi and ordered the re-checking. The official said though the online system was a positive step yet it needed some improvements.
