The honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan rejected the government’s National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) review petition. Now it is necessary for government to implement the verdict in letter and spirit. If the government uses delaying tactics as it did in the past, the judiciary should take firm action because rulers are playing with Court’s verdicts.
If the Supreme Court had taken any action against them in the beginning, they would have not dared violate its orders. It is the responsibility of the judiciary to see whether its verdicts are being implemented or not.
No one is above the law. Our religion Islam treats everyone equally. Islamic history shows even the caliphs being brought before the court. The parliament should make amendments in the constitution to remove the immunity offered to the president, PM and other government functionaries.
