A newly wedded girl was shot dead on Tuesday by her cousin for marrying a boy of her own choice.
The murder incident took place at Dhok Lakhan situated in the outer Saddar area of Rawalpind, where a few months ago the murdered girl Mariam Bibi married a boy of her choice.
Earlier, the deceased Marium’s brother and a cousin Zafar tried to take her back forcibly but after stern resistance by the girl she was shot dead by her cousin.
The dead body of the deceased girl was moved to a hospital and, after postmortem, it was handed over to her heirs.
