Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) – one of the allies of the government – has demanded Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar to step down for his failure to trace out the perpetrators of the suicide attack on JUI-F chief Fazlur Rahman.

JUI-F’s central shura held a meeting Tuesday to review the investigations of the suicide attack on Rahman, following which JUI-F leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed criticised the interior minister.

He said that Nisar holds prolonged press conferences for meagre matters but “did not even bother to condemn the attack on the JUI F chief”.

Ahmed said that a four-member delegation of his party would soon meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to enquire about the ones involved in the attack on the JUI-F chief.

He complained about the non-provision of security to the JUI-F chief by the federation but added that his party would continue its struggle in the country and such cowardly attacks could not shake the party’s determination.
