In view of the forecast of heavy rains in Karachi, District Coordination Officer Roshan Ali Sheikh has cancelled leave of officers and subordinate staff working for the city government and town administrations, directing them to attend their duties from Tuesday.
On Monday, during a visit to different towns of the city with officers and town administrators, Sheikh inspected the drainage system in many localities, especially those from where complaints regarding standing rainwater had been received.
He also instructed the officers to ensure availability of machinery, vehicles and water pumps at all such places in the city, so that rainwater could be drained soon after its starts to pour.
He said the City Wardens would also help the citizens during rain, and help the traffic police in maintaining the flow of vehicular traffic on the roads.
