Condemning the remarks uttered against President Zardari during the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) rally in Lahore, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Secretary General Jahangir Badr said Shahbaz Sharif was aiming at letting the Centre down.
Addressing a joint press conference on Saturday at the Lahore Press Club, Badr and PPP Punjab President Imtiaz Safdar Warraich said the PML-N rally was a flop show and the attitude of the Punjab chief minister reflected that Shahbaz wanted to derail democracy. They said Asif Ali Zardari was not an individual but an institution.
Badr deplored the language used by the PML-N leaders against the president, saying the PPP would never leave politics of reconciliation, but it should not be considered the party’s weakness. He said the PML-N rally was merely a show of government employees and the PML-N leadership used unethical language in the rally, which showed the real face of the Sharif brothers.
