Some 53 of Qaddafi’s supporters were executed at a hotel in Sirte the other day, according to a Human Rights Watch report.
I just read the “Bloody Crimes”, the history of civil war of America in which 620,000 Americans were killed during four years (1861-65). After the confederate president, Jefferson Davis, considered responsible for this unprecedented killing, was captured with family and close team-mates, he alone was taken prisoner with due honour and imprisoned for two years during which his family was allowed to visit and stay with him, though the USA President Abraham Lincoln was killed by Booth, Jefferson’s loyalist. Jefferson lived 25 years as a respected American citizen and then buried in Richmond, his one time capitol, with the same honor, rather more as Lincoln.
This is how the USA has stayed as a federation of 50 states. More than enough food for thought for Muslim scholars and leaders, claiming to have the best religion but no good history or precedents. Ironically, in all world known massacres, no Muslim had been involved. Most of the casualties have occurred at the hands of non-Muslims. The world wars that claimed millions of deaths were not started by Muslims. But it seems the Muslims of today are not good at keeping this tradition.
