Qaddafi was a hero

What a man he was! He fought like a real soldier and gave tough time to a super power including its allies. Eight months of resistance against modern forces shall always be remembered as a land mark in military history. He had many options to surrender and live a comfortable and luxurious life anywhere in some friendly country, but he turned down the offer of US and France and made it clear that he would fight and die in Libya and would not surrender at any cost.

It is true he ruled Libya for over 41 years but people were happy as they were all being looked after well and proper. There was no unrest when the agitation started. It was a well planned affair and it is evident that the West had focused its eyes on this oil rich country.

Dictatorship or democracy, what right does a super power have to invade an independent sovereign state? There is nothing to celebrate this event, in fact, it suggests that Muslim rulers all over the world should open their eyes and get united, lest such adventures are undertaken in their domains in future.

Does establishment of no-fly zone entitle the west to start bombardment on the military installations and destroy the infrastructure and kill innocent people?

This super power has no love for kingdom’s monarchs or even democratic leaders where its personal interests are concerned. Once it decides on a regime change, it uses all methods to do so irrespective of the collateral damage.

We talk so much of Geneva Convention but hardly follow it. What happened in Iraq? What happened in Afghanistan? These examples should be sufficient for us to understand the power game being practiced by West. Qaddafi was wounded, instead of giving him medical aid he was slain. He fought bravely and has written a new chapter in his country’s history by laying down his life on Libyan soil as declared by him. Let us salute this great hero and patriot for his courage, determination, fighting spirit by facing a super power and its allies.
