Recently, the Establishment Division transferred as many as 27 senior police officers serving in Punjab to Balochistan. Although they were separately notified, but the sudden transfers of 27 police officials might raise many questions for the establishment division. However, one must hope that such a move is undertaken for the betterment of law and order situation of the province.
Such a move could be interpreted as a silver lining for the Punjab police officials, who have been given a chance to serve in a province, which has always considered Punjab to be usurper of their rights and resources.
The police officials when take charge of their new duties should try to perform the duties more honestly and responsibly, so that the people of Balochistan get to know that Punjab is not what they assume it is.
By doing their duties effectively and efficiently they could become the ambassadors of goodwill for the people of Balochistan, they could also try to clear the misconceptions people of Balochistan have for Punjab and try to bridge the gap between the two provinces, which may lead harmony between the two.
