Are we united?

After the creation of Pakistan, everyone who lived in Pakistan was proud to call himself or herself a Pakistani.
But this has changed slowly. We are no more Pakistanis; we are now divided. They started calling themselves Punjabi, Sindhi, Balochi etc and now the condition has worsened. Even living in the same province, we have divided ourselves into castes. If something bad happens in another province, the other provinces say, “Thank God, we are safe”.
It is the prime duty of the media to inculcate a sense of pride amongst the masses and give them a sense of identity so they can proudly call themselves Pakistani instead of labelling themselves restrictively. Secondly, the government must emphasise education so that students can easily stand up to the forces that divide them. While a sense of pride in your province, its language and its culture is in no way misplaced, it should not hamper you feelings of national pride.
