Stag Club clinched the title of the second SPM Club Cricket League after defeating Ludhiana Gymkhana by 26 runs in the final here at Ali Garh Cricket ground, Model Town the other day. In the final, Stag made 319 runs for four in allotted 45 over. Muhammad Ayub Dogar scored 95 runs while Zahoor Ilahi (62*) and Nadeem Iqbal (52) were the other prominent scorers. Rizwan Haidar took two wickets for 77 runs. In reply, Ludhiana Gymkhana were bowled out at 293 in 43 overs. Kashif Mehmood scored 54 runs while Rizwan Haidar made 44 runs. Stag’s Immad Ali grabbed four wickets for 44 runs while Zia-ud-din took one wicket for 39 runs.
P.V.C.A Chief Executive Nawab Ashiq Hussain Qureshi was the chief guest on the prize distribution ceremony and distributed the prizes. Stag’s captain Shahid Anwar received the winners trophy and Rs 100,000 cash award. Ludhiana Gymkhana captain Muhammad Hussain received the runners up trophy with Rs 50,000 Cash. Salman Ali (Stags) was declared the man of the series with Rs 10, 000. Muhammad Ayub Dogar (Stags) was named the man of the match with Rs 5000. Nadeem Iqbal (Stags) was named the best batsman with Rs 5000 while Kashif Mehmood and Asif Ghafoor got the best wicketkeeper and best fielder awards and Rs 5000 respectively. S.P.M Aizad Hussain Syed, Uzair Syed, Syed Azhar Zaidi, Amer Ilyas Butt, Sarfaraz Ahmad, Allau-din Shakeel Malik, Shoaib Dar, Khurrum Sheikh, Mian Mobeen, Touqeer Shah, Ejaz Butt, Malik Sarwar Mehmood and large number of cricket organisers were also present in the ceremony.
