PHC CJ inaugurates Bannu bench

Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan inaugurated the PHC Bannu Bench on Monday, keeping in mind the high public demand for the same. He formally commenced the judicial proceedings at the bench for disposal of cases presently numbering 2100 plus. The ceremony was attended by the KP advocate general, law and judicial officers, district and sessions judge, presidents and general secretaries of district and sub-divisional bar associations, lawyers and others from Bannu, Lakki Marwat and Karak.
Khan while addressing the participants said the establishment of the bench was a starting point towards the provision of expeditious and inexpensive justice to all. He said, “Islam focuses on establishment of a just, impartial, fair justice system where each component and stakeholder performs their responsibility with accountability.” While highlighting the role of lawyers, he said, Pakistan was not poor but was being poorly managed, adding that the lawyers’ community had the capacity to manage and create the balance in the society by playing their due role.
