Vishal Bhardwaj and Ajay Devgn, who had teamed up to make ‘Omkara’, one of the finest films ever produced in Bollywood, have now drifted apart. The ace filmmaker had chosen Ajay for a comic film titled ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’ opposite Anushka Sharma. But Ajay Ajay dropped Vishal’s film for Ashwini Dhir’s ‘Son of Sardar’.
The reason is still unclear but if sources are to be believed, Devgn had been lured by the money Viacom 18 Motion Pictures offered him for Dhir’s project. A source informed, “Viacom bought ‘Son Of Sardar’ for 750 million (Indian rupees). Devgn is 50 percent partner in the deal.
Devgn had to choose between the two films. Seeing that ‘Son Of Sardar’ was financially more satisfying, Devgn chose the project over Vishal’s.” Zeenews
