Politicians’ rhetoric

Daily we find some of the known political leaders from PPP, PML(N), PML(Q), MQM, ANP, etc appearing on various TV channels rant out at each other. I believe all such parties have specialist in the field of rhetoric; they just do not listen to each others’ points of view and just waste our time. On a day you can track these political experts appearing on various TV channels. What a waste, as they only talk but are incapable of reformation or correcting the ills, like bad governance, rising inflation, poverty, ever increasing power rates, etc.

I personally feel that while the electronic media is making their talk shows more alluring to the public, they must try to be more prudent and selective in their programmes. PEMRA must put a check on such useless political rhetoric. I also think that the heads of political parties must also take note of this ever increasing nuisance.

Freedom of speech does not mean that one can say anything on TV, especially when one is not practicing what he talks. And, a good orator may not necessarily be a good politician/leader. Talks and talks alone is no democracy. I think it is more of hypocrisy. Let the true politicians come out and take practical steps.
