The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has allowed Distribution Companies (DISCOs) to increase Rs 3.04 per unit (kwh) for all consumers. According to NEPRA, this hike is due to high cost of furnace oil and based upon enhanced power generation of 600 million units during Ramazan.
I don’t want to say much about this hike but only one thing: the PPP government has never adopted austerity measures to save tax-payers’ money. All we Pakistani have witnessed in the present government’s tenure is our Prime Minister, President and Speakers National Assembly visiting abroad with their families and supporters while serving no cause.
Millions of dollars are spent on these useless foreign visits while the government is not serious in providing any kind of facility to public.
