Lahore has become a metropolitan city without any doubt. With an increase in traffic on roads, the number of beggars is also increasing. On each traffic signal that you stop at, it is expected that you encounter some of these beggars. It has become a norm and we have stopped condemning it because we don’t have time to think about these issues.
Even beggars are aware of this fact and that is why they don’t even bother to look like beggars anymore. Women wearing nice dresses with no signs of any physical problem are often seen begging on roads. It is pathetic that like other illnesses of the society we have accepted this illness as well and no efforts are being made to eradicate it.
