According to the Asian Development Bank report titled Asia 2050, by 2050 AD Pakistan’s per capita income will be US$ 7900 as against India’s US$ 41700. By then, our population will increase by 80 percent to 335 million while Indian population will increase by 32.5 percent only.
The question is, can we afford to continue pursuing policies that have resulted in an untenable multilaterally hostile environment for us in which we have had to spend billions upon billions on our security at the cost of ignoring our basic development needs culminating in abject poverty and little national progress?
