Man kills father-in-law

A man along with two accomplices killed his father-in-law who demanded divorce for his daughter in the Factory Area Police precincts on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Mukhtar Ahmed of Sitara Colony Number 2, Walton Road. Police said Mukhtar had his daughter married to Ijaz, a resident of Nishter Colony. They said that Ijaz abused his wife and she left his house a couple of months ago and started living with her parents. Ijaz tried to reconcile but she refused and also suggested that he divorces her and her father supported her. On Tuesday night, Mukhtar was sleeping on his roof when his family heard gunshots. When the family rushed upstairs, they found Mukhtar bleeding out of three gunshot wounds. They rushed Mukhtar to hospital where doctors pronounced him as dead. Police reached the scene and shifted the body to city morgue for autopsy and registered a case against Ijaz and his two accomplices.
SUICIDE: A 20-years-old girl committed suicide after taking poisonous pills in the City Raiwind Police precincts.
The deceased was identified as Razia Bibi, of Adda Stop Raiwind City. The police claimed that Razia’s family abused her for defying them when they imposed the decision of being a housemaid on her. She took poisonous pills and fainted. Unconscious Razia was rushed to hospital where doctors provided her medical aid but she died.
Police reached the crime scene and handed the Razia’s body to her family after completing legal formalities.
ACCIDENT: A speeding Army truck collided with and killed a motorcyclist in the North Cantonment Police precincts.
The deceased was identified as 24-year-old Abdul Ahad, of Samundari District, Faisalabad. Police said the deceased was a labourer and was going somewhere on his motorcycle. As he reached Askari 3, a speeding army truck ran him over and he was injured badly. He was taken to hospital by rescue officials but he succumbed to his injuries there. Police handed his body over to his family after completing legal formalities.
FIRE: A Sub-inspector of Bhaati Gate Police allegedly set a resident’s house ablaze.
Malik Azhar, of Kocha Rehmat informed the police that Sub-inspector Muhammad Akram of Bhaati Gate Police Station tortured him over a minor issue and half an hour later, when returned to his place, he saw the gate of his house ablaze and two motorcycles parked close to the gate were reduced to ashes. He alleged the sub-inspector for setting his house on fire. Police after reaching the scene recorded Azhar’s statement. Police said investigations were underway and action will be taken against the responsible after establishment of facts.
Akram told police that he had exchanged harsh words with Azhar when he had asked him to lock his motorcycles parked outside his house. He claimed that Malik Azhar had staged a drama in order to get him punished.
