The petitioners’ counsel appearing said before the court that Railway authorities did not pay the due amount to the legal advisors despite court orders. They were given cheques which bounced back in banks.
The legal advisors had been waiting for their salaries for the last two years. Finance Additional Director of Railway department appeared before court and sought more time for the order’s compliance to which the judge remarked that the department was given the last chance to pay the petitioners their salaries in three days and if the officers concerned failed to comply, they would be dealt with harshly and sent to jail.
