In a joint meeting between Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Chairman, PBC Director General and reps/owners of private FM Radios of Sindh held at PEMRA Regional Office Karachi on Tuesday to chalk out a strategy to help flood victims by highlighting their plight to relief agencies and NDMA.
Similarly, they agreed to disseminate preventive and health-related information to affectees with WHO and local health agencies help. PEMRA Chairman Dr Abdul Jabbar said the role of private FM radio in creating awareness about the intensity of disaster and providing timely information to relevant agencies in initiating relief, rehabilitation and medical cure can not be ignored.
