Apropos to Mr Malik’s letter on CDA’s complete lack of interest to develop E-12, where plots were given to general public in a transparent manner, way back in 1989, when Benazir Bhutto was the PM. The CDA is dominated by bureaucracy and is there to serve our powerful paid civil and uniformed servants of the state, or members of pressure lobbies and real estate business tycoons. It is there to allot to them expensive farm lands in Islamabad like Chak Shahzad at subsidised prices, with the declared objective to meet agricultural products needs of Islamabad residents, but have ended up being the domain of ruling elite to build their palatial palaces.
If CDA was there to meet genuine housing requirements of the tax-paying general public, then 22 years would have been enough to develop E-12 and hand over plots to those whom they were allotted through a ballot conducted in 1989. Nobody in this country is answerable for such an atrocious injustice that has been done to these unfortunate allottees of plots in E-12. Will justice be done to them during their lifetime?
