Pakistani electronic media has perfected the art of creating hype over minor issues. The recently held All Parties Conference in Islamabad on 29 September is a classical example of this skill. People’s expectations skyrocketed and some naive Pakistanis started believing that Americans in Washington would be waiting with floral wreaths for Pakistan Armed Forces after the APC was convened in Islamabad. What a great nation we are!
The APC has proved one thing that our politicians are united to enjoy good food at the expense of the state. On the one hand flood affected people in Sindh are waiting for food and medicine and here in the national capital our great leaders were enjoying hot soup and biryani. Two persons in Khaki were looking out of place in this drama.
Now the media is discussing whether the APC was a message to the Super Power that Pakistan has done its part and now the USA may implement remaining part of the script.
