The Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Stone Development Company (PASDEC) Ihsanullah Khan has said the target of marble exports has been set at $76 million this fiscal year as against $59 million during last fiscal year.
He said this while addressing stakeholders of the marble and granite sector at the oath taking ceremony of newly elected office bearers of the All Pakistan Marble Industries Association (APMIA). He said owing to PASDEC efforts and introduction of mechanised quarrying in the country, this target could go up to $100 million in the next financial year. He said that the marble exports a few years back were $34 million. He said that due to value added marble production by using state of the art machinery they have succeeded to pick up a lot of export orders from international market.
