Labour Party Pakistan (LPP) demonstrated on Monday at Chairing Cross outside Punjab Assembly against the detention of LPP federal committee member Baba Jan who had surrendered himself before an anti-terrorist court in Gilgit last week. Dozens of LPP activists carrying placards inscribed with slogans in favour of detained leaders and against alleged ISI involvement in the torture in Gilgit announced more demonstrations would be held across Pakistan.
LPP spokesperson Farooq Tariq alleged that Baba Jan had been taken out of jail in Gilgit and now the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) was torturing him in the name of investigation.
