Justice delivered

At last, the verdict on the lynching case has been given by the Anti-Terror Court, Gujranwala. Out of 28 accused of murder of two young boys Mughees and Muneeb, seven have been awarded death sentence and six, including the police officials who remained silent spectators, have been given life imprisonment. The gory incident that shook every sane person’s mind in the country last year has met its logical end. Kudos to independent judiciary that timely dispensed justice to the poor and sealed the chances of such ghastly incidents in the future.
Obviously, if justice is not served at right time, then crimes creep up and gradually sap the very foundation of society. The death penalty would be an eye-opener for those who believe in barbarianism. Moral and social turpitude can be checked by the judiciary by handing out exemplary punishment to culprits. Hopefully, the souls of the victims will now rest in peace.
