We have heard a lot of news of the floods in interior Sindh on different TV Channels. But did anyone know that in an area named Jhando Mari of District Tando Allahyar, the one and only existing government hospital is totally submerged in floodwater. Due to this particular problem, the health woes of the already afflicted people have worsened.
While the building may have gone under, no paramedical staff or doctors are available for duty in the area? Thus, in the absence of the qualified staff, no makeshift arrangements for dispensing health facilities can be made either.
I have personally visited this area and was very disheartened that we are living in luxuries and these people don’t even have a dry bed to lie on while they are sick and suffering. I would like to alert the authorities of the misery of the people of the area and request the government to shun their negligence and set up some temporary facility for providing health facilities to the flood-affected people.
