In a bizarre display of cold revenge and calm diplomacy, the family of Sutiana Police Station House Officer (SHO) Rana Mazhar was abducted on Thursday by the accomplices of a wanted man whose family the SHO had earlier arrested in a raid, a private TV channel reported on Friday.
On Thursday afternoon, the SHO said some men had kidnapped his wife and daughter, which turned out to be in revenge for arresting the family of the wanted man, identified as Shahzad alias Shadu, a proclaimed offender in many cases. SHO Mazhar had registered a case against Shahzad’s wife and mother-in-law and arrested them.
In a strange development on Friday, however, after his own family was abducted the SHO made an amicable and diplomatic deal with the kidnappers and both parties released each other’s families unharmed.
