KARACHI: Eight more people were killed and another nine injured in various parts of Karachi on Monday, with the death toll in the latest spate of violence rising to 44.
Meanwhile, Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza ‘re-imposed’ the ban on pillion riding in Karachi on Monday, two days after he had announced its lifting to “respect the wishes of the residents of Karachi”.
The ban was imposed on November 2, 2008 by the Sindh Home Department to control rising crime in the city, particularly target killings. Karachi CCPO Fayyaz Leghari said police had not received any written orders as yet.
