Since it was announced that CNG stations would be closed for three consecutive days in Punjab, the miseries of commuters have doubled and tripled on these three days due to a shortage of local buses and rickshaws. To save money, owners of local transport facilities park most of their buses in terminals and allow only a few for commuters, causing hundreds of people to wait in bus stops for hours. Rickshaw drivers also charge a higher fare on these days.
Most of the local buses have shifted to CNG due to high petrol prices. To reduce the miseries of the poor masses, why is it not possible to provide CNG to local buses only on these CNG-free days? Please don’t punish the poor people of Punjab. If Punjab consumes the maximum amount of petroleum gas, in return Punjab also gives the maximum revenue to SNGP.
