Diya Women’s Football Club and Young Rising Club won their matches in the seventh National Women’s Football Championship while Balochistan was held for a one-all draw by Margalla Club on Wednesday being played in Islamabad. Diya WFC thrashed Army by 7-0 at the outer Football ground of the PSB with Hajra scoring four goals, Mariam having two and Rukhsana one.
In the second match, Young Rising Club defeated Punjab by 5-0 at Jinnah Stadium. Malika Noor and Zara Iqbal shared two goals each while Sana scored one to complete the tally for Young Rising Club. In the last match of the day, Balochistan which moved ahead with a 19 minute goal by Sadia was held to a 1-1 draw when Margala Club’s striker Shagufta brought the equaliser in the 50th minute.
