Most of the educated Pakistanis today who are part of highly technical and professional jobs within Pakistan and around the world were once students of 60’s to mid 80’s era of government schools. Today, those schools are either closed or have become source of worsening education standards.
Private schools have taken over the place of govt schools and give a sense of commercialisation of education to the whole nation. Now, it is a symbol of pride and status to choose an expensive private school over cheap govt one.
I along with so many expats still see a good future if the concerned authorities can revive the old govt schools and make them work the same way they used to deliver quality education by making some revolutionary measures. Pakistan’s best interest and future is in good quality widely available education to masses.
