England’s cricket has been on a rising curve over the last few years and now by beating India comprehensively in the recent series, their resurgence is more and more visible.
English team is fairly well balanced with the some good batsmen complimenting their excellent bowling. It is true that some of the Indian players were down with injuries on their tour to England, but that does not take away a magnificent performance from the England side.
It has been very much a summer of discontent for the Indian cricket. The Indian selectors have a task on their hands as some of the Indian players are in their twilight years.

The last one-day match between England and India was a real thriller. India, despite scoring over three hundred runs, failed to win. The superb onslaught that continued most of the time during English batting dried up all hopes of India.
The Duck Lewis system reduced the target to 241 runs but that too in 34 overs. Although the target was tough, the English guns fired all around the ground and left Indians totally helpless. The current tour proved a nightmare for India as it lost ODI series 3-0, a massive defeat of 4-0 in the Test series and a loss in the only T20 match.
The Indians tottered throughout the tour and totally failed to make an impression. The pomp and show that the Indian team gathered after the World Cup has gone with the wind after a short span of few months.
So, at the end of the show, the curtains are drawn on a winless tour for India. India and England swapped positions on the ICC’s ODI ranking with India going to number five and England to number four. What a change of luck!
