British Prime Minister David Cameron on Friday telephoned Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and assured him of UK’s full support for the flood victims. According to official sources, both leaders discussed the situation arising out of Sindh floods and losses that had shaken the country.
The rehabilitation of the flood victims also came under discussion. The sources revealed the bilateral relations also came under discussion between the two leaders. Gilani briefed Cameron on a host of issues with special focus on devastation caused by sweeping floods in Sindh, besides the rehabilitation and reconstruction work done in flood hit areas by the government.
Gilani said more than four million people had been affected by the country’s worst floods, adding that all government organisations were working round the clock to bring back smiles on the ill-fated affected people. Sources said the British PM assured Gilani of all possible assistance for flood victims, stressing the UK would not leave Pakistan alone in such difficult circumstances.
