Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Wasan said on Thursday that the claims of former Sindh senior minister Zulfiqar Mirza regarding issuing 300,000 arms licenses were wrong.
Talking to journalists in his office, Wasan said only 700,000 arms licenses had been issued from 1947 to 2000.
As reported earlier this month, addressing a massive public gathering in Lyari, Mirza said he was ‘proud’ to have issued 300,000 weapon licenses during his tenure.
The law enforcement agencies were working accordingly to overcome the law and order situation and seven more alleged target killers had been arrested during last 24 hours, he added.

Mr. Manzoor Wasan if the arms licenses figures are wrongly given by Mr. ZM then please you disclose the correct figures to set the record straight. Otherwise till today the public tends to believe as truth, whatever is stated by Mr. Zulfiquar Mirza most of which he has said on Oath. So Mr. Manzoor Wasan, the onus lies on you to clear whether the figures of 3,00,000 armed licenses is an understatement or overstatement?
