City District Government Lahore (CDGL) has planned to make available 400 spray pumps in two days with recruitment of 500 daily wagers to intensify anti-dengue drive in the city, said Lahore DCO Ahad Cheema, during a media briefing regarding dengue fever in King Edward Medical University (KEMU) on Wednesday. The DCO said that spray teams at UC level had been beefed up to make the drive successful. He said that next round of fogging and residual spray would be launched with enthusiasm. MPA Khawaja Salman Rafique said that negotiations had been made with the manufacturers of panadol tablet and they were ready to reduce medicine’s price. He said the company would provide 10 tablets for Rs 6. He said that various NGOs, including Sahara Foundation, were being contacted, who had announced to conduct CBC blood tests free-of-cost.
