The government is planning on increasing the power rates by Rs 2.04 per unit ie, roughly 20 percent increase per unit. This would prove to be the last straw on the camel’s back. How on earth people would be able to pay such escalated rates of power? In fact, Kalabagh dam if built could have provided power at even less than Rs two per unit. But this has not been the fate of the people of Pakistan to avail such low cost power. We are silent observers like lambs being taken to slaughter house without any protest.
The rulers, of whatever hue they may be, are squarely responsible for mass economic suicide of people and it is the responsibility of our superior judiciary to take the bull of astronomical rise in power rates by the horns and direct the rulers to post haste build the KBD before Pakistan implodes from inside.
