When government leaders use their power for their own gain, the whole country suffers. It is time to safeguard our democracy before we lose it.
Good leaders inspire entire generations to seek a greater good. They cast visions that help nations overcome tyranny and inequality. Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr are examples of this kind of leadership. We do not have to look far to find examples of bad leadership. It is time for our own government officials to become accountable to those they serve. We must not tolerate those who are callous and indifferent to human suffering and exploit the poor. The self-interest of the wealthy elite at the expense of the poor is a violation of human dignity. We stand against a government that no longer serves its constituents.
